i need a Health and Safety policy
Do you pay anyone else to work for you, or do clients, customers or supplier visit your premises? Then the law may require you to have a written Health and Safety policy. It’s not just a good idea to help prevent accidents or prove your status as a limited company, but can also be a legal obligation.

So why should you make sure you have a Health and Safety policy?
It’s good practice to have one, and if you employ more than five people, the law says you need to have a written one.
Also, most contractors or freelancers enter into a contract for service with their customers as opposed to a contract of employment. To support this status, your contract for service will generally include a substitution clause which allows you or your business to substitute yourself with someone of similar skill, qualifications and experience in the event of you being unavailable for any period of time.
It’s for these reasons that you don’t just need Employers’ Liability insurance, but also be able to supply a Health and Safety policy if requested.
